After tackling the technology challenge for 3 months, the world¡¯s first functional prototype for Recycling Kinetic Energy Propulsion System® (REProp®) - ¡°electric type¡± flywheel KERS is successfully assembled and debugged on HAIKE¡¯s pilot line. This prototype is independently developed by HAIKE with components made in China.
The development of functional prototype, which was launched on 23rd, July 2012, aimed at matching a specific commercial vehicle model produced by a leading Chinese OEM. HAIKE has worked out a sophisticated implementation plan to ensure the smooth development of functional prototype. The intelligent use of more than 30 patents was integrated into the design and test process. A group of world leading experts nominated by China top Plan ¡°Recruitment Program of Global Experts¡±, who are specialized in electric motor, power battery, and clean energy vehicle design led the R&D of prototype. At the same time, dozens of experts and technical staffs from HAIKE, suppliers, and partners were involved in the R&D task. HAIKE¡¯s R&D team is exercised and accumulated valuable experience during this process. The 30+ suppliers have produced and supplied the related components strictly following HAIKE¡¯s R&D timeline. HAIKE¡¯s technology partners synchronously developed electric motor and other key components. During this period, experts and officials from Ministry of Science and Technology, local government departments, and universities visited HAIKE, providing HAIKE with valuable support on R&D. The successful development of functional prototype lays solid foundation for HAIKE to assemble, pilot produce and road test the flywheel KERS installed in the targeted commercial vehicle model, and finally pass the national verification by 2013. This will leads to the launch of the first clean energy vehicle equipped with ¡°electric type¡± flywheel KERS, after which the commercial production will be realized. |
